Most of these statements came form people that had a bad experience at a particular dealership. I won't say that it hasn't happened to me, but this shouldn't have any affect on what you think of the product, it should only affect your feelings about that dealership. There has never been conclusive proof that our American cars lack in quality when compared to the imports.
Look at the problems that Toyota is having right now, with their accelerator pedals sticking to the floor; and while they try to fix that problem, here comes another problem with the brakes on their cars. This is not the only problems that they have had, in the past they had problems with their trucks frames rotting all the way through with rust, and the people that owned those trucks had all kinds of problems getting Toyota to fix them.
How is this higher quality then a good American car, when was the last time that you got in an American car and had your accelerator pedal stick to the floor, or had your brakes fail? Yes, they have had issues in the past with tires and even a gas tank issue in the mid 70's to early 80's. But never did the frame on a Chevrolet, Ford, or Dodge rot all the way through in a year or two, never did the camshaft's break in half like the Toyota tundra did, I could go on but I think that you get the idea here, it's time to give them another chance.
If your in the market for a new car, all I ask is please check them out, don't just write them off because you listened to a person who hates them with no real reason, it's the nature of the industry, and the nature of human beings to make a mistake every once in a while. But you should not write them off just because they made a mistake in the past. The cars that they build these days are very high quality, you just can't buy a better built car, and you'll be helping your country if you buy an American car.
It's time to get rid if the negative feeling about the American auto makers, and give the a chance to prove the things that I'm saying here, help your country, and help our auto industry by buying an American car the next time your in the market.
