It's Time to Go

Phaidra Glover
The door to freedom's open, but there's fear in walking through

For fear of what another may question, think or do

I'm entangled in fear's binding grip and now it won't let go

For years you've made a laughingstock of me-a circus show

Just when it seemed I would be free to touch the dreamy sky

You yanked my arms to pull me back and silence every cry

"You'll never leave!" you hiss at me when I begin to sleep

And at the end of restless days, soon doubt sneaks in to peep

"I don't know how you'll do that, but you can't!" Doubt starts to yell

"You don't know what you're doing, how you're living, but sleep well!"

You devil, I renounce your taunts, declare you as a fraud

There is one master of my heart who rules, and He is God

Now you must leave, get out of here, you wretched filthy scum

Directed to the pits of hell from where your kind has come.

So true, fear leads to the devil, faith leads to God. :)! rcj

A good poem for those who needed to change for better. I like this one. In God we trust.
