It's Time to Sing a Different Deficit Spending Tune

Washington's "Change" Helps the Dollar to Deteriorate into "Change"

One of the reasons our current President was propelled into office had to do with the fact that he was promising "change." Some Americans who voted for him did not realize that Barack Obama's "change" would translate into socialized medicine, extreme bailouts and bonuses, double-digit unemployment, and extravagant parties and travel during wartime.

The result of these current events? Take a look at how the dollar is stacking up in the big world economic picture and you'll see that it's barely worth "change."

Yeah, yeah, we know. It's all Bush's fault. Same old tune, different songwriter. Speaking of music, how do you like the new trend in governmental policy planning? "No one knows what goes on behind closed doors." Thanks, Charlie Rich, for giving us a glimpse of the health-care-deliberating future with your 1973 hit. You truly had a vision of what our illustrious government would be up to in the next millennium. Speaking of (tele)vision, one can only wonder what happened to President Obama's promise of ongoing C-Span coverage.

All things considered, perhaps it's time to start singing a different deficit spending tune. If we all become "Riders on the Storm," and cling to our Guns and Roses (oops, I mean Bibles), perhaps we can veer away from this financial "Highway to Hell." After all, when you're "Born in the USA," you don't want to be anyone's monetary "Whipping Post."

Now that we're "Under Pressure," it's important to "Take It Easy," and show our "Respect," while we quietly contemplate a governmental spending "Revolution" at the voting polls. As a mom, I don't want this "Sweet Child Of Mine" to be burdened with our inconceivable national debt. "Ain't It A Shame" that in upcoming elections, we will need to be very careful because our "Suspicious Minds" want to ascertain that "We Won't Be Fooled Again."

Sometimes we almost feel like Washington's hallowed halls are a "Gangsta's Paradise," brimming with "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" who are ensuring we'll be in debt until we're "In The Year 2525."

Fellow Americans, we should be "Taking Care of Business" because after all, "We Are The Champions." When election day rolls around, "I'll Be There" because if we all vote for fiscally responsible candidates, soon the culprits of our dollar's demise will be "Already Gone."
