It's Valentine's Day

O. Harding
It's Valentine's Day and I can feel,
The gentle, cool morning breeze
Coming to caress me from head to heel,
What a wonderful way to welcome lover's day?

It's Valentine's Day and I can hear,
The lively chatter and hilarious laughter;
Lovers having fun as they play
The games from which they so quickly retire.

It's Valentine's Day and I can smell,
What seems like the expensive perfume;
An angelic being laying her spell
For her lover to succumb and fall in a swoon.

It's Valentine's Day And I can touch,
The soft, tender lips of an angel so fair
She, the one my love burns for so much
Has captivated my soul, O, What more can I say?

It's Valentine's Day and I can't wait to taste,
The appetizing main course my sweetheart prepared;
My mouth salivates, there's no time to waste
Lest the meal becomes cold and can't be enjoyed.

It's Valentine's Day I awake from my dream,
My sweetheart has vanished, her perfume took flight;
Loneliness now ruins the hope that beamed
So brightly, keep hope boy, your day's still in sight.
