It's a New Year!

Light the sparklers, pour the champagne
Window markers and confetti rain
The time has come to drop the ball
And make our wishes as it falls

Mom swears this year the house stays clean
Dad promises no more caffeine
Grandma says she'll see us more
And grandpa says he'll fix the door

Every year it's something new
A different goal that we pursue
From finding god to planting trees
Or being honest and saying please

It's 2010 and we'll make it the best
Or at least better than all the rest
