I'VE BEEN REPLACED

Kathryn Neff Perry
I learned last evening that this may be the last time I write for the paper. Yes, that's right, I may have been replaced.
As we were planting trees and weeding the shrubs, Amy advised me that she's going to write a book.
I told her I thought that was wonderful.
I asked her if she had any definite ideas about her first book, and she gave me a few tips on what she planned to write about. Mostly just her life experiences so far. How she's organized her "Fun Club". I suggested she write a "How to" book.
It was 7:30 p.m. when she informed me that she would have her first book ready for "press" before bedtime. (8:30 p.m.)
We discussed the fact that sometimes it takes writers a little longer than an hour to write an entire book.
I suggested that maybe she should start out on a smaller scale, like an article.
Then she looked at me with those big green eyes and said, "Yeah Mom, on those nights when you're "too tired to move, I can write an article for you!"
