If you are looking to add some festive charm to drinks, Skeleton Straws are an inexpensive drink decoration. There are a couple different brands on the market but most of them are made up of a white bodies with black accents. The nicer ones will glow in the dark or have a thick plastic straw. If you are planning on using these with drinks that contain alcohol I suggest that you put them in the recycle bin when you are done (or keep them for floral decorations) as the plastic can absorb the scent of the alcohol.
The two that I have purchased in the past have made for great last minute decorative touches to drinks but since the skeletons are on straws you can also use them in cakes, food items and for table decorations if you have a vase that doesn't have a spooky enough feel to it. There are some skeletons that do not have straws packaged with them; they slide on to standard sized straws and generally cost about a dollar less than the ones that do come with straws.
I'd suggest these for adult parties but you can use them for spooky and scary drinks for kids providing that they are old enough to use them responsibly. The ten inch straws come in several packaging formats; Party City has a package of twelve for $2.79 but if you want the nicer looking ones with accented detailing painted on them as well as breaks in the ribcage then you are going to have to get them online from Century Novelty or Oriental Trading Company. The more detail versions cost more but sometimes you have to overlook the price and celebrate the season.
