My Experience Registering and Other Information

Ivy Tech Community College Northwest Indiana offers several career choices in the field of health sciences. Seeking a degree or a certificate for a health-care related career, is a wise decision in these hard economic times. I have personally decided to attend Ivy Tech. My goal is to become a registered nurse.

My Experience Enrolling and Signing up for Classes

Recently I enrolled at Ivy Tech and found it was one of the easiest things I have ever done. I started by applying to Ivy Tech on-line via their web site. It only took a couple of minutes. Next I filled out my Free Application for Federal Student Aid on-line. If you have all your tax returns, and drivers license handy, it is very simple and easy to complete. I have never attended college before, so I had to have my high school transcripts sent to Ivy Tech. I called my old school and they mailed my transcripts to the college. After I completed the steps above, I had to go to the Ivy Tech campus, and take the compass test for admission. After immediately receiving my results, I was sent to the admissions department. There I spoke to a counselor. The counselor helped me decide which classes I should take, and registered me for them. A quick stop back at the admissions desk, and I was officially a freshman in college. I stopped by financial aide department on my way out. I was surprised to find out that any awards I might have, will show up on the student web site, called campus connect. It was all very easy. Several years ago I tried to attend one of our local universities. It was so intimidating that I actually did not finish my admission. I believe if I had tried Ivy Tech first, I would have followed through, and completed my degree by now.

Ivy Tech Easy on Your Budget

I was surprised to find out that average tuition cost is approximately less than $3000 a year. Compared to the other local universities, that is almost half their tuition.
