What You Might Not Know

I get ask this question alot does Jack Russell Terreir's does Jack Russell's get along with other pet's in the home?Well to answer anyones question yes they do get along well with other pet's as long as they were raised with other pet's in the home the can get along well with cat's and other dogs it's how you raise them i say this all the time to people that don't really know this breed i have two female Jacks and they get along well they are mon and kid. I was watching T.V lastnight and this lady had come on and said that the Jack Russell does not get along well with cat's this maybe true as they are hunting dogs, but again it's on how you rasie them you have to put alot of time into this breed as they are hyper and love to learn new things everyday i can't really speak for those other Jacksbut i can speak of the ones i have and mine have been raise with cats since they were little this is how well my Jacks are with cats my female Jack the mommy one she will lay there and let the cat suck on her ear now if this is not a calm Jack then i don't know what is not all Jacks are the same, but again it's how you bring this breed up and it's always a good idea to bring them around children and other pet's when he or she is every young as this will help with the rasing of your Jack Russell i hope this has answered some of the questions that might have been on your mind.

Just wanted to say thanks for that post. I have bought a jack ruseel x bichon frise puppy on saturday and have an adult cat. The cat is not happy at all that the dog is in the house and she is making that very clear. I have made them give each other space for the time being and will mingle them slowly over time. I was worried though that the jack russell in the dog would mean it wouldnt get along and would be a danger to my cat. Its helpful to know that with the right training this need not be the case.
