Jackets Every Woman Should Own

Faye Morgan
Every woman needs a collection of jackets for a myriad of reasons. There are jackets we wear because they look great and because they keep us warm. This guide will explain which jackets you should own and why. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful.

Camel Coat

Weather you splurge on a real camel hair coat or buy a faux fur version these are great for fall and winter dressing. These very classy coats can take you anywhere from work to a date. The best looking have a blend of golden brown with red to light brown undertones. You can wear your camel coat with black, white, browns and other neutral colors. I find I like this coat best as a trench but you may choose the style.

Cape

Weather you buy a short or a long version, make it beautiful and classic. Capes are a great way to add a bit extra to a formal outfit. They are a wonderful alternative to other jackets during the winter months. I strongly suggest that you wear a cape over something that is tailored or form fitting as a cape will bulk up.

Jean Jacket

This is a great jacket for spring, summer evenings, and for the fall season. They come in all styles and colors. This is one piece that is defiantly worn to show off your personality. I do not recommend wearing denim for a formal event or to the office.

Fur Coat

I strongly advise every woman to own at least one fur coat. The best fur coats are made of sable, chinchilla, mink, rabbit, or the fur from a large cat. I understand many of us women are against the production of real fur coats, which is why I say the very best fur coat is faux fur. A fur coat can be worn in just about any situation and they are the best for fighting cold weather. I personally own two, one long made of faux fur in white and grey, and one short in red rabbit fur.

Motorcycle Jacket

Just about every woman has a need to add a bit of an edge to her look and the motorcycle jacket is a great way to do it. I recommend buying one in black leather that is not shinny, and that is either form fitting or a size to large. When looking for the perfect motorcycle jacket, head to the vintage stores. This way you will be able to find one that is already broken in so to speak.

Trench Coat

Now you may already have one in camel or other fur, but consider one in wool or a cotton blend. This is a great addition to any outfit and looks sophisticated when worn open. If you wear your trench closed it can be an entire outfit that is perfect for showing off your legs. If you are wearing it closed be sure to pair it with amazing shoes.

Zippered Hoodie

This jacket is almost totally about the comfort. Having one in cotton for travel and around the house, and one in satin to dress up a very casual look would be best. Just remember you are actually buying this jacket for comfort, so the style, size and shape are totally up to you.
