Jacksons in Search of New Pop Family

Three members of the Jackson family are joining up with CBS to create a new reality TV show that aims to find a new pop music family.

The new show will be similar to the popular 'American Idol' and it will be called 'Pop Dynasty'. The way in which this new pop family will be discovered has not yet been fully ironed out, but it is thought that families in search of stardom will be tested on their abilities.

It is obvious that the families will have to prove their performing talents in the same way contestants on 'American Idol' must do. But it is thought that 'Pop Dynasty' will have an extra element that judges the competing families on their ability to work together.

At the moment the three members of the Jackson family that are involved are; Jermaine Jackson, LaToya Jackson and Tito Jackson. There is no word regarding the possible involvement of Janet and Michael Jackson but it is thought that they will probably not be part of the show.

'Pop Dynasty' will bring another aspect to the popular music reality TV themed shows, where contestants compete for lucrative music contracts. The new show will be similar but instead of individuals competing to be solo artists or members of a girl or boy pop band, families will compete as a unit in hope of becoming a pop super family like the Jacksons. This is the first time a reality music TV show will be centred on families.

The three Jackson members currently taking part in the show will act as judges. Other individuals that will be working on the show include; Jamie Foxx, Greg Shelton. Stu Schreiberg and Marcus King.

In previous months Jermaine Jackson, LaToya Jackson and Tito Jackson have all be increasing their visibility to the public. Early this year Jermaine Jackson took part in the UK's popular celebrity 'Big Brother'. The same 'Big Brother' that saw Jade Goody causing an international incident with India. Jermaine Jackson was very much a zen member of the house that many members looked up to. Jermaine was also extremely popular with the British public and finished the programme in second place to Bollywood actress, Shilpa Shetty.

LaToya also participated in a reality TV show in the US called 'Armed and Famous'. The show was centred around celebrities training in hopes of becoming a reserve police officer.

Tito Jackson took part in a celebrity singing contest run by the BBC called, 'Just The Two of Us'. His role in this show was as a judge.
