Jacob Name, 54, Dies in Fatal Car Accident Due to Snow in Gentry County, MO

February 5, 2010 - Jacob M. Name, 54 of Stanberry, MO died in a fatal car accident that occurred around 5:30 am in Gentry County, Missouri after his vehicle slid in the snow on US 136 just 4 miles west of Albany.

3 vehicles were involved in the accident, a 1997 Chevy Lumina driven by the deceased, a 1995 Olds Cutlass driven by Tammy J Siddens, 45 of Albany, MO, and a 2001 Buick Park Avenue driven by Marvin D. Gregg, 52 of Bethany, MO.

The accident occurred as Names was traveling westbound in his Lumina on 136 and slid on the snowy road. As the Lumina rotated clockwise in the eastbound lane, Siddens, who was headed east in the opposite direction hit the drivers side of his vehicle and then her vehicle pushed Names vehicle back to the westbound traffic where it came to rest facing south. A third vehicle that approached going westbound, the Buick driven by Marvin D. Gregg hit the driver on his side again.

Jacob Name was pronounced dead at 6:47am by Gentry County Coroner.
