Engine
The newest Jaguar XL has the basket made from aluminum which allowed equipping the car with high class 4.2 liter engine of V8 type that has the power of 298 rpm. The gear box has 6 speeds and works in automatic mode only.
Compared to the previous versions the new Jaguar seems to be more massive and there is no doubt as it became higher and wider. The size of wheel base was increased but at the same time is weights 200 kg less than its predecessors. Thus the basket panels are connected not by the means of welding but with glue and riveting it means that the inflexibility of twisting is increased.
You can choose from a wide range of engines. There are 3-liter engine V6 by power of 240 rpm, 3.5 liter V6 by power of 262 rpm, and there is the newest 8-cylinder one adopted and renewed S-class engine of 4.2 liter which is offered in two versions - atmospheric of 300 rpm and the mechanical of 400 rpm.
All versions are equipped with 6-step automatic gear-box by ZF.
Brakes
Jaguar is equipped with usual brake system for this segment. There are ventilated front disk brakes and the back ones are disk.

If you are the fan of the latest achievements, you will be glad to see that new Jaguar XJ is equipped with sensor liquid crystal display for climate control, radio, DVD, navigation and phone.
Safety
All version of Jaguar XJ are equipped with the pneumatic suspension bracket CATS (Computer Active Technology Suspension), inflexibility of which is regulated automatically depending on the terms of motion. The system of the emergency braking Brake Assist, system of course stability of DSC and control the system including the pillows of safety of ARTS are standard (Adaptive Restraint Technology System).
