Jake and Vienna Break Up No Surprise to Many Bachelor Fans

Chris Houston
A Jake and Vienna break up is probably surprising little if anyone who watched The Bachelor. They were one of the oddest couples to ever grace the finale of a Bachelor. Vienna was always the odd girl out on The Bachelor and her antics pushed some other contestants like the ever noticing Ali right to the limit. Vienna was, let's just say, a bit controversial. Not to mention she was one of the most despised candidates in recent memory.

The fact she won the heart of Bachelor Jake Pavelka was a fact many viewers couldn't deal with. Blogs, comments and blurbs across the country focused on how wrong Vienna was for Jake during The Bachelor. Now those people who wrote negative stories about Vienna will stand to be correct in the potential analysis of that relationship. A Jake and Vienna break up just isn't a surprise-plain and simple.

Vienna didn't seem like the kind of girl who would keep Jake around after the show ended. Jake, who seemed more worried about his abs than women, also seemed like the kind of guy who would want to weigh his options on down the road. There was some proof of that when he accepted a role on Dancing With The Stars. Let's just say Jake Pavelka had his eyes on another prize-once, of course he was done working the abs and adjusting in the mirror. Vienna probably moved on after the thrill of victory of winning a contest on national television. When all the hoopla was gone--apparently so was the relationship. At least that's the way it seems from the initial talk of the break up. Perhaps the two realized what many viewers had seen all along-Vienna was wrong for Jake and vice versa.

The Jake and Vienna break up is not the first such news for The Bachelor television series. Many couples have struggled to find love once the surreal setting and drama is gone. It seems as if that drama only helps keep a relationship together while on the show-but then reality, oddly enough, seems to sink in once the couples are off-screen. Let's face it--dates in New Zealand and Paris are hard to live up once you get back to the regular normal life. The Jake and Vienna break up seems like what was inevitable for many viewers to start with. Maybe Jake should have picked Tenley after all? You can read more about the Jake and Vienna break up here!

Didn't so many of us say weeks before the finale already that this will be one of the rudest awakenings for any bachelor?
Told ya so, buddy, how could you have been so blind...?

I never thought Vienna was the right one
for Jake, she convied and did everything she could to catch him, I always thought she was a phony from the start - Sometimes love just does not happen when the gleam is gone, it is better for both of them, Vienna's mom should keep her comments to herself. I always felt that Vienna wanted to tie Jake to herself, to keep him at her side
always, and that just does not always work.

The relationship never appeared to be something that would last "forever," despite their protests. As Betty stated below, as time progressed it seemed he used Vienna as his stepping stone to success. While many of us believe that Jake seemed sincere during the filming of the show, he has since been shown as rather self-absorbed and it appears that the publicity generated to further his acting career was his goal from the outset.

I noted that it was never brought to the public's attention that Jake is now considered to be a "former" pilot. That was only recently conveyed in the article discussing his planned appearance on "Diva." That seems to validate his original intentions.

My original impression of Jake was that he seemed like agenuinely nice guy looking for the love of his life.

Perhaps acting really is in his future, because he had many of us fooled!

I see it in a different way. I actually liked Vienna. The only antics I saw were those of Ali Fedotowsky and how she was constantly badmouthing Vienna and trying to get the other girls to dislike her too. As for Jake and Vienna's breakup, I blame that squarely on Jake and his enormous ego. He never should have gone on Dancing With The Stars, and he's still trying to stay in the spotlight by guest starring on a sitcom instead of concentrating on his relationship with Vienna. Maybe she got sick of waiting for him to pay attention to her instead of himself. Who really knows?
