Jake and Vienna from the TV Show "The Bachelor" Split

According to CBS, Jake and Vienna from the TV show "The Bachelor" have officially split. Yep, Jake and Vienna have announced their break up so we should all take a moment to mourn the loss of yet another TV reality couple. According to E! News, Jake and Vienna released a statement through their rep - yes, they have a rep - asking the public to appreciate and respect their privacy at this time. Come on!

As we all know, Jake Pavelka proposed to Vienna Girardi during the TV show's finale but who really expected them to stay together? Out of 14 seasons of the TV show "The Bachelor" only one couple has actually gotten married - and the "Bachelor" (aka Jason Mesnick) didn't even marry the woman he initially proposed to - so it should come as no surprise to anyone that Jake and Vienna are over.

How can any man really select the woman he will spend the rest of his life with by meeting them on a TV reality show that is filled with fun and romantic activities in exotic places that make anyone look like a Prince? Once back to reality, the women probably see the bachelors as real men - just like the rest of the men out there. However, there were rumors of Jake cheating on Vienna so maybe he was just in it for his 15 minutes of fame which he extended by appearing on "Dancing With the Stars."

So was the public duped? Apparently Vienna told E! News that she and Jake were going to be married next summer, yet she also told "Greek" actor Gregory Michael (at a charity event) that she and Jake were no longer a couple. Anything for publicity.
