The Christopher Bean Coffee Company is a relatively small company based out of Daytona, Florida. Even though the company is small, their product is huge on taste. With coffee connoisseurs traveling all over the world searching for the freshest beans and most unique flavors, the creativeness and skill it takes to make great coffee is this company's forte.
PROS:
Taste
"Jamaican Me Crazy" is a strongly flavored, full brew with not so subtle hints of Kahlua, vanilla, nuts and caramel. The most vibrant flavor on the palette would be the hazelnut but, the vanilla and caramel certainly pull through after you swallow a sip of the coffee. I found it hard to taste any Kahlua. (If you follow the suggestion on the bag and brew with clean, cold water such as a good tasting bottled water, you will notice the difference immediately. )
Feel
As with all Christopher Bean coffees, the feel is a clean and crisp one. I tried the coffee black, with sugar, with sweetener and with cream. The only difference in the mouth was with the cream. The slight thickening of the coffee did not appeal to me. So, this coffee is best felt on the palette without any interference from dairy products.
Scent
"Amazing aroma!" is a direct quote from my husband. This coffee fills the room with hovering vanilla beans and hazelnuts. Though again, just as with taste, the nut scent is stronger. "Jamaican Me Crazy" is perfect for that last cup of coffee after dinner. Nothing feels better than a great cup of after dinner coffee and this one delivers well before you pour the first cup.
Cost
According to the Christopher Bean Coffee Company, each bag of their coffee takes 3,000 to 4,000 beans to make. Taking into consideration that one coffee tree will produce 3,000 to 4,000 beans at one time, the cost is rock bottom cheap. I purchased an 8-ounce bag of pre-ground coffee for $4.99. I was able to keep the bag in an airtight container for one month and brewed more than 10 pots of coffee. Compare that price to Starbucks!
Packaging
The Christopher Bean Coffee Company always impresses me with their artistic coffee bags and "Jamaican Me Crazy" dos not fall short. Vibrant colors, creative images and helpful information cover the package, enticing the brewer to read about the coffee they are about to enjoy.
CONS.:
Nuts
The aroma and taste of nuts in this coffee was a bit overpowering for my liking. The main taste and scent was the hazelnut. If you like a coffee with creamer, you would be able to buy an unflavored version and add hazelnut creamer to achieve the same general taste.
Strength of Flavor
The flavoring in "Jamaican Me Crazy" is strong and bold but, it may be a bit overpowering for a first morning cup. Better suited for evening or after dessert, I am more comfortable drinking this flavor on special occasions than every morning.
The Christopher Bean Coffee Company is a fantastic, small-town coffee company creating some truly fantastic coffee flavors. "Jamaican Me Crazy" is a positively unique experience in coffees. The aroma and taste are bold and vibrant while the price leaves your pocket feeling no lighter. Take a walk on the bold side and try "Jamaican Me Crazy". I stand by my rating of four out of five stars.

Post a CommentI personally don't know what I would do without my Jamaica Me Crazy. I can't drink anything else now! I'm ruined. After the first time you open the bag and smell that amazing aroma, Folgers and all the rest just smell like chemicals. Non-GMO is the way to go!
Thank you for a wonderful coffee experience in "Jamaica Me Crazy". My daughter and I went to Negril to celebrate her graduation from Virginia Tech and fell in love with the coffe there. when we got home and I found this rich aromatic beveridge, I was immediately transported back to the "no problem, Mon" attitude of the island. Thank you for letting me relive this wonderful vacation again and again through my morning brews of "Jamaica Me Crazy".
bought Jamaica Me Crazy on vacation in Florida, now it all gone. I'm going to order more .
While on Military Duty, we received coffee from Christopher Bean Coffee Company. I Thank You so much for supporting United States Armed Forces. Your support was extremely appreacited by all. Troops LOVED the coffee. I personally tried the House Blend and Blue Mountain...Loved both flavors. Best Coffee in the world. THANK YOU, Daniel Camacho USAF
I love this coffee, but don't know where to buy it now. Please, where do I get it. Best coffee I ever tasted.
The name of the blend is reminds me of the book by Bob Morris, "Jamaica Me Dead" which I am currently reading.
This costs less then the Folgers speciality coffee. Thanks for the review!
