Jamba Juice's Berry Cherry Pecan Oatmeal Review

The Pen
Last year when Jamba Juice began to serve oatmeal, I began to eat it a few times throughout every month for breakfast. The Apple Cinnamon flavor was my favorite, and recently I went into one of the stores to buy another bowl of it.

But there was a big poster of a new limited edition Berry Cherry Pecan flavor of oatmeal. The picture of the oatmeal looked delicious, but I was hesitant to try it because the oatmeal contained dried cranberries. I'm not a big fan of dried cranberries because they can taste too hard, dry and tarty, and I just thought they'd taste horrible in a cup of oatmeal.

But I like to try new things, so I decided to give the Berry Cherry Pecan a chance.

Taste of
Jamba Juice's Berry Cherry Pecan Oatmeal

I was definitely surprised by the taste of the Berry Cherry Pecan. I immediately loved it.

The actual oatmeal is just ok. It is slow cooked so the oats are really soft and chewy. Nothing's added to it, so by itself, it tastes rather blah. I've also never had it served piping hot, so it's kind of stiff, I actually prefer to re-heat it in a microwave at home.

But once I mixed the berry and pecan topping in it the oatmeal came alive. Even though the blueberries and cherries are dried, they're not hard and dehydrated, they're actually soft and have some moisture left in them. They add a sweet flavor that's so good.

The cranberries were also surprisingly tasty. They also weren't stiff and instead of overwhelming the other flavors, they complimented the cherries and blueberries perfectly. They added a bit of a sweet and tangy flavor that was great.

And my favorite was the glazed pecans. They were sweet (they taste like pralines) and added the perfect crunch to the oatmeal.

In the End...

This oatmeal is the bomb! It's so good that I've already bought two more cups of it in the last few days. If you're an oatmeal lover I recommend trying it before Jamba takes it off the menu. I give it 4.5 out 5 stars.
