James Corbett: See These Great Car-Part Sculptures by an Innovative Australian Sculptor from Queensland

Catherine Dagger
James Corbett is from Ningi in Queensland, Australia. He makes highly original sculptures using old car parts.

His sometimes futuristic, sometimes urban- or industrial-looking, sometimes slick sculptures are really worth seeing. Find some of them here.

James has been sculpting for years and his original style and materials have gained increasing recognition. Not surprising when you see them. Buyers have carried his sculptures off home all over Australia, the USA, England, Switzerland, New Zealand, Japan and the United Arab Emirates.

He started sculpting his unusual works when he was running a Brisbane business, recycling car parts. Starting by making sculptures of cars and bikes, he went on to make car-part animals and birds.

Every sculpture uses interesting old car parts, none of which is bent out of its original shape. The integrity of each part is maintained. Some of the car parts are interesting objects in themselves, he says, as they can be up to 80 years old.

Have a look!
