James Durbin Out of the Top!

If you are a fan of James Durbin, you have watched him perform week after week and receive glowing reports from all three Idol judges. He has even inspired Steven Tyler to pop the sensors a time or two! So what happened this week? Were his fans overconfident that he was a shoo in for the top 3 and just did not vote? Or will this be the season country music takes the top prize?



Potential Future



Fans who are worried about what the future holds for James Durbin should keep in mind that Chris Daughtry has gone on to be the third most successful American Idol Contestant in history, behind Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. Of course, who could ever forget the enormous success of Jennifer Hudson and she was eliminated in 7^th place on American Idol season 3.

His Story

James Durbin may be one of the most unique contestants to ever go so far on American Idol. When he was a child James was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome and high functioning autism. Do to his disabilities he faced a lot of bullying from his peers and in his words he was "just lost", until he met his wife Heidi, his "angel". It is also interesting to note that this is not his first shot at Idol stardom, he also tried out in season 8 but was not chosen.



Tourette syndrome is a neuropsychiatric disorder, which shows itself in early childhood and is characterized by physical and at least one vocal tic. Once thought to be a rare disorder today it is believed that 1-10 children per 1,000 have this disorder.



Conclusion



Where does James go from here? Hopefully he will score a record deal from the RCA or a similar recording company like Chris Daughtry or with his flair for the dramatic, perhaps he can pull out a Jennifer Hudson comeback in film.



For my money, I am waiting on the James Durbin CD! Regardless of who wins American Idol season 10, there are sure to be scores of fans who feel the same way. Rock on James, you do metal proud!
