James and Mattie Fight - Big Brother 9

Allison and Ryan are this week's chosen target, with Matt and Natalie placed on the block to ensure Allison and Ryan did not win the Power of Veto. As planned, Matt and Natalie won the POV Competition and took themselves off the block. Josh and Sharon put Adam and Shelia up to replace them and to ensure the vote would be unanimous to get Allison and Ryan out this week.

The problem is, Matt has promised both sides his vote and he has done such a good job of working both sides, that James is now concerned that Matt will change his vote and vote to keep Allison and Ryan.

Earlier in the morning, Ryan was campaigning hard for James to vote for them, promising that Matt has guaranteed his vote. After they were done shooting pool, James felt compelled to go to Josh and Sharon about his concerns and let them know he intends to confront Matt.

James told Josh and Sharon "I'm done with this. I want to blow it out right now." Josh said "And do what?" James said he wants both guys to know what is going on so when they go to the Jury House, then they will know. Josh said it would be easier to deal with Adam because if the vote comes out tied, they are going to blame James and Chelsia. James said "That's why I want to do this." Josh said "Its a risky move. James tells them that he wants to pull all three of the guys aside. Josh told him that Matt "Talks some mad _____ about you." Sharon said "He talks _____ on you all the time." As they talk, Chelsia comes up to the room. Josh and Sharon tell James that Matt is trying to make Sharon think that James is in an alliance with Allison and Ryan. James said "I'm done." He turns to Chelsia and apologizes for what he is about to do. She says "Wait. Wait. Wait." Chelsia wants to know what is going on and James fills her in on what Matt has been doing and that he, James, wants to clear the air with all three of the guys so that everyone knows that Matt is playing all of them. Chelsia does not think he should say anything and James says "Are you kidding me?"

James assures Josh that he is behind him and Josh tells him he trusts him and is just playing worried for the benefit of the house. James told him he is doing a good job with it because he had James concerned he was really worried about the vote. James apologized to all three of them for what he was about to do.

James called a meeting outside with Matt, Adam and Ryan to confront Matt. He started off about Matt saying that he and Chelsia were in an alliance with Allison and Ryan. Matt denied it and told James to pull Sharon outside to confront him if she is saying he said that. James then said "I don't care how you're voting, but I do care how you're playing both sides." Matt said "Nobody knows how I'm voting." James looked at both Ryan, then Adam. Then James asked Adam "Has he said he has your back." Adam said "Yeah." James turned to Ryan and asked him "Has he told you he has your back?" Ryan said "Yes." Matt said "Nobody knows who I'm voting for. What's it matter?" Matt says this is how you play Big Brother, but James said he has not told either couple anything about how he is voting, and they keep telling him that Matt is promising them, each of them, his vote. The problem, James explains, is that he then goes and tells Josh and Sharon that James and Chelsia are in an alliance with Allison and Ryan, so if the vote gets tied, then that casts doubt on James and Chelsia. Ryan spoke up and clarified that there is not alliance there. James said he only wants both couples to know they are being played by Matt.

Adam tried to explain James' point to Matt because James is not making any promises, and so when Matt does, it makes the women from both couples attack James trying to gain his vote because they think they do not have to worry about Matt's vote any longer. So both women are going after James for his vote, thinking they have Matt's.

When Matt tells James that both couples know where he stands with them, it almost seems as if James is about to laugh because how could either couple know anything about where Matt stands with them when he is telling both of them the same thing.

James went inside and Chelsia and Shelia came out to hear what Matt had to say for himself. Chelsia started yelling at Matt for playing both sides and having both couples come to her and James and beg for their vote because they know Matt is voting for them. Matt uses the excuse that everyone did that to him and Alex last week, telling them both the same thing, so he does not know why he is not allowed to do it this week. James came outside again and told him that these two guys that he is playing are the same guys he hangs out with late and night and shoots pool with and eats pizza with. Matt keeps saying "That's Big Brother." James says it is unnecessary.

Shelia gets upset about how stressful it is not knowing how someone is going to vote and James and Chelsia do not know what it feels like to be on the block. Chelsia promised her that they will tell her before they vote which way they are going. Shelia accepted that. Ryan explained that the conflict is because both teams are playing differently. Whichever team goes home is a vote Matt is giving up in the jury for promising both couples his vote. James and Chelsia are choosing not to make promises they cannot keep. Chelsia agreed and said that they are playing straight and will not make deals with two different sides.

Things digressed into an all out yelling match between James, Matt, Chelsia and Natalie with Shelia and Ryan being asked for input. Josh has been sitting with his feet in the hot tub being quiet. (Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxTsjNHu7yo)

Matt says this is going to make James look like the hero. Matt told both Ryan and Adam, in front of everyone, that he does not know what he is doing yet. Matt said he asked James for a sit down where they could have come to an agreement on the vote, but James refused. Matt said if they would have had a sit down, James would not have felt he had to come out with all this. James said he wanted to see what Matt was going to do.
