The Series Continues
James Monroe is mostly known
For the doctrine that bears his name.
But since we had no real navy
Enforcing it was lame.
For the doctrine that bears his name.

Enforcing it was lame.
But Monroe did some other things
Like the era of good feelings
That attempted to lessen partisanship
And do a little healing.
He won election easily both times
Despite controversy and panic.
And provided a little calmness
After a period that was manic.
