James Whitney Bulger on FBI's Most Wanted List with $2 Million Bounty

Rosa Hayes
James Whitney Bulger is making the headlines once again in the top ten in the FBI's most wanted list. There is now a reward for information that leads up to the capture of Jame Whitney Bulger. The reward has doubled and is now at an outstanding $2 million. Police believe that Bulger is on the run in Europe and will be posting new and updated wanted posters in hopes of his capture. Burlerwas indicted on 21 counts of murder and racketeering charges. Those who believe that they know where Bulger is may contact 1-800-call-FBI or can go to their website at www.fbi.com.gov/tips, as reported by the Boston Herald.

With Bulger on the run it has left me wondering if a life would be better spent in prison or on the run with everyone looking for you. The bounty out on Bulger has doubled and many could use that money but there are those that are also afraid of what would happen to them for letting the FBI know where he is.

Bulger is no doubt a dangerous man having killed 21 people but there are also programs set up for such events as these also known as the witness protection program. In the witness protection program your entire identity will be changed and you will not be able to contact anyone from your past including your family.

The witness protection program provides those witnesses with the protection that they need and funding until they are out of the danger zone and established in their new area as read on U.S. Marshals website.

I can understand why many would rather let a fugitive walk instead of testifying against them since they would not be able to hold onto anything from their past including their extended family but witness protection has also helped to take bad people off of the streets. The witness protection program has actually helped many to establish their life and to become better.

Bulger has been on the run for many years and hasn't been seen in the U.S. for over a decade but this still doesn't mean that he will not be captured. Bulger is now 79-years-old and what about the families of the murder victims? Those families will not likely forget what Bulger did and they deserve justice.

I've seen this guy profiled three different times on "America's Most Wanted."

He is pushing 80...but murder is murder. 21 people is a lot of people to kill. I hope someone finds him.
