Jamey Johnson Country Music Association Winner for Song of the Year, in Color

Jamey's Songs in Color and High Cost of Living Are Songs that Hit Home for Many

Jennifer Moore
Jamey Johnson hit the country music scene in 2006 with his debut single "The Dollar." Jamey Johnson was born in Enterprise Alabama. Jamey is proving that he is going to take country music by storm. Do not overlook Jamey Johnson in the excellence department.

After the album The Dollar, Jamey Johnson hit country music with his next big album that has proven he is a great country artist. That Lonesome Song released in March 2008. That lonesome song has two top ten songs, "In Color" and "High Cost Of Living."

In color has become a song that most all households have heard. When Jamey Johnson sings in color, the whole crowd cannot help but sing along with him. For many people this song really hits home and brings back memories. I have seen Jamey Johnson in concert, when he performed in color, he stopped singing and the crowd sang the entire song.

Jamey Johnson's song is about an older man talking to his grandson, and going through old photos. Jamey sings about the war, being scared, old friends. Jamey sings about the love of the grandma and grandpa, who I am sure, reminds people of their grandparents.

Jamey Johnson's song High Cost Of Living deals with issues that many people can relate to in one form or another. Drugs and alcohol will ruin an entire family. This song talks about bills, pressure, smoking pot, cocaine and a man giving up. High cost of living will hit you to the core.

Jamey Johnson also proves he can co-write. Jamey has co-written singles with top country singers, Trace Adkins, George Straight, James Otto and Joe Nichols.

In 2009, the academy of country music nominated Jamey Johnson for song of the year for in color, which he won. Also in 2009, country music association nominated Jamey Johnson for song of the year for in color, which he won.

I was fortunate enough to see Jamey Johnson perform January 31, 2009 at Cattle Annie's Restaurant & Entertainment Club, located in Lynchburg Virginia, up front. I loved every second he was singing. Jamey's music is pure country through and through. Jamey's songs are straightforward and hit home with many people.

For those of you who have not heard Jamey Johnson sing or seen him perform, you have no idea what you are missing. Go see him it will be worth the money, guaranteed.

For the record, yes, as you can tell, he is my favorite country music singer by far!

I love that song and it's true when that song comes on everyone in my car or at home starts singing until the very end. That guy has talent!!

I've never heard of this artist. Shows how out of touch I am with mainstream music!
