Jamie Lynn Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie and Other Recent Pregnancies of Note

It seems that Jamie Lynn is following in the footsteps of her older sister, Britney. Not only has she taken off into superstardom with her Nickelodeon Show Zoey 101, but she is now pregnant with her first child. At only 16, the junior Spears has just announced her pregnancy to the media and to the world.

The baby's father is noted as Casey Aldridge whom Jamie Lynn met at church. It seems that Jamie Lynn has decided to tell her story to OK! Magazine instead of trying to hide the pregnancy.

Nickelodeon said, in a statement e-mailed to Reuters, said: "We respect Jamie Lynn's decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn's well being."

It is yet to be commented on what will happen with Spears and any further involvement with the company.

Speaking of hiding pregnancies, I think that we should also mention the pregnancy of Jennifer Lopez. Not only did she continually deny that she was with child, we came to find out that she was actually pregnant with two children. That is correct, J.Lo and her husband Marc Anthony finally confirmed that they are indeed expecting twins, a girl and a boy. She was able to stay out of the spotlight for a while, but when Jennifer Lopez is expecting, it is only a matter of time before someone finds out.

It has been announced within the past few weeks that Fantastic Four star, Jessica Alba is pregnant. Although she is keeping a low profile, it has been reported that the actress and her boyfriend Cash Warren are expecting their first child in late spring or early summer. It doesn't appear that the actress has spoken publicly about her pregnancy.

Another notable pregnancy is that of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. This was another pregnancy that was not talked about much in the beginning. It had been rumored for many months before Richie acknowledged that she was indeed pregnant. However, since her confirmation, both Madden and Richie have seemed to be model parents. Richie has quit smoking and experimenting with drugs and she now appears to be healthy with a little more weight on her normally skeletal frame. Both are constantly seen side by side and there have even been talks of marriage. With approximately a month to go, many eyes will be on Richie and whether she keeps up with her healthy habits.
