Jamie Lynn Spears Quietly Working on Album While Britney Makes Headlines

Britney Spears has been back in the headlines in a big way thanks to her new album "Femme Fatale," but while she's been busy promoting it with appearances in Vegas and on "Good Morning America," her sister Jamie Lynn Spears has reportedly been working on an album of her own.

Jamie Lynn was on her way to becoming a star just as big as her sister with her role on the Nickelodeon show "Zoey 101" when she shocked her young fans and their parents by becoming pregnant at age 16 back in 2007. Since giving birth, the young star has stayed out of the spotlight, but now she seems ready to try to revamp her career with what's being described as a country-pop album that she has been recording with some of the biggest names in music.

Jamie Lynn reportedly recorded a demo track in Nashville, and her management team is trying to get her a record deal. It would be a big step back into the limelight for the young star, and as more news about her budding music career leaks, she might steal a little of the spotlight away from her older sister.

This probably wouldn't be a bad thing for Britney, since the negative press that has always followed the star has started up again. Sources close to the star have called her a "puppet" who has to constantly be told exactly what to do. She's also been called "a dead-eyed robot" who just wants to spend all her time smoking and watching TV, and a "zombie" who has to be painstakingly managed no matter what she's doing -- appearing on "Glee," giving an interview or performing. She's also been called "desperate" to get married again to boyfriend Jason Trawick.

And of course, Jamie Lynn Spears' new album will likely make her pregnancy buzzworthy again, especially since the show "Teen Mom" has become so popular and controversial.

Still, perhaps these paparazzi targets can lean on each other as they both try to give their careers new life; maybe they'll perform together someday. There might not really be a place for a country-pop song in Britney's summer tour with a post-apocalyptic theme, but surely she wouldn't mind getting back down to her country roots to do a duet with her little sister someday -- after all, no one should be able to relate to Britney better than Jamie Lynn, who also experienced the pitfalls of fame at a very young age.
