Jamie Lynn Spears Vs. Britney Spears: Which Sister Will Be the Better Mom?

Britney Spears should thank her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, for recently taking the spotlight off of her. According to OK Magazine, the younger Spears sister is ready to reveal to the world that she is pregnant. At the age of sixteen, the mom-to-be is making headlines as her older sister, Britney, prepares to be an aunt.

Once the shock that the young, Nickelodeon star is pregnant has worn off, the question on everyone's mind will be: who will be the better mom?

While Jamie Lynn Spears is ten years younger than her sister and still in high school, recent news about Britney's parenting skills has all signs pointing toward Jamie Lynn. Is it possible that she could be the more mature, responsible sibling? Although a star on Nick, Jamie Lynn has yet to receive the fame that her sister has acquired. It is this level of fame that has caused so much speculation about Britney's grasp of reality.

In addition, the younger sister has revealed plans to stay in Louisiana, using the assistance of her mother, Lynne, to raise the baby. It seems that she wants her baby to have a "normal life." Though she is still working toward her diploma, Jamie Lynn just wrapped the final season for her hit show, which should leave her some free time for her new role as mother.

Britney, on the other hand, has been plagued with doubts about her parenting, even before her divorce from Kevin Federline. While it is true that she spends more time in the spotlight than the average parent, one would think that would cause her to raise her level of awareness concerning her parenting skills.

Post divorce, though, has been the straw that broke the public's back, in regards to her own mental stability, as well as her behavior concerning her children. Recently, a judge removed primary custody of the two, young boys from Britney. Current allegations are also circulating that she is, or was, involved in drugs, which has prevented her from being an active parent.

It seems both Spears are in need of a helping hand. While babies can be a joy, the role of motherhood can be a challenging one. Who will be the better mom? Right now, a betting person would bet on the younger sister, but only 2008 (and the years to follow) will say for sure.
