Jane Doe Identified -- but Officials Still Seek the Rest of the Story

Pompano Beach, Florida

It happens too often. An identification is made, but a murder remains unsolved. Some cases grow so cold after many years that even when an ID is made other details have grown very vague.

A body found in a wooded area on September 13th, 1983 has recently been identified as 22 year old Tina Moore of Pompano Beach. The victim's fingerprints connected the dots to her identity.

Officials admit it was murder, but hold back some of the crime scene details. It is common practice to keep an ace in the hole for investigative purposes.

It is thought that Moore might have been a dancer at an area gentleman's club. Her remains were found wearing three silver earrings, a 3 leaf clover in the right ear and in the left was a horseshoe and a mushroom. A tattoo of a bunny head on her lower right abdomen appears to be an amateur (homemade) tattoo.

After a quarter of a century this identification is just another piece of a still very much unfinished puzzle. But with this vital piece of new evidence Broward County Sheriff's office still have a homicide to investigate and they are seeking information from the public.

If you have any information into this case -- or know any of Moore's relatives -- please come forward with that information. No detail is too small to be important.

Please call Homicide Detective Frank Ilarraza at (954) 321-4210 or call Broward Crime Stoppers. You can do so anonymously if you like, at (954) 493-TIPS or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org

Todd's calling to be a voice for missing and unidentified persons began when he solved the identity of the "Tent Girl" case, Barbara Hackman-Taylor, after a ten-year journey that ended in 1998.  View profile
