For the readers that have not yet had the pleasure to read this series here's a short summary about it. Taking place in Jersey we meet Stephanie Plum during a very difficult time in her life. She's our of work and has no money and she has to survive by mooching off of her mother's food. Since there is no other way of getting a job Stephanie decides to ask her cousin Vinnie to get her a job. Vinnie who is a bail bondsman gives her a job after Stephanie blackmails him with telling his wife some interesting stuff about him. Vinnie decides to give Stephanie a job as a bounty hunter. Throughout these cleverly titled books we follow Stephanie Plum as she follows the bad guys. Not knowing how to do any of this "apprehension stuff" she gets some help from the hot and sexy Ranger. Also in the picture is Joe Morelli an old flame who deflowered her and made it known to everyone.
With the help of these two Stephanie manages to catch the bad guys and gain a few extra pounds in the waistline. Grandma Mazur is Stephanie's grandma and acts more than a bounty hunter than Stephanie with a gun that she actually knows how to use and her snoopiness helps Stephanie with her criminals. Soon Lula appears in the picture, who is an ex-prostitute turned file clerk. With all these people helping out there is no way that anything can go wrong? Or can it? Janet Evanovich brings us this cleverly written story to enjoy and make it into our own guilty pleasure. Highly acclaimed and highly loved by its readers the Plum series is back with this new book Lean Mean Thirteenwho is as good or probably better than it's successors. In this last book Stephanie has to deal with Dickie, her ex-husband, who disappears and leaves a tangle of a mess behind. It's easy to figure out why Janet Evanovich is the best thing to happen since Agatha Christie. Each summer her books are bought by thousands of loyal fans who await for the next extraordinary book in this series.
Janet Evanovich is the master and has masterfully written a book that helps us as readers have fun and get away from the world for a little while. Lean Mean Thirteen is hopefully not the last that we have seen of Stephanie Plum. On the official Evanovich website it says that there will be two new books. An in between the number book and the fourteenth book are coming out and rumors are that they will be next year. So Stephanie Plum fans can rejoice to know that their beloved bounty hunter is not going to leave us yet. For those of the devoted Plum fan who haven't bought the thirteen book yet go out and buy it today and get caught up. You will not be disappointed with this book or with any of the other books that Janet Evanovich has written. Barnes and Nobles has the book for $19.56 and members pay $16.77. So don't waste any time, put down whatever you are doing and go out and buy the book. This book will have you laughing and make you addicted to it. You would not want to put it down.
