Janet Jackson: DISCIPLINE for Jermaine Dupri ?

"Light skin, Dark skin, my Asian Persuasion," is the opening of Ms. Janet's single "Feedback" found on the new "DISCIPLINE" CD. Her next question is, "do you like my sexy, sexy, sexy style?"

Ms. Jackson's new look and CD seem to take us on a journey of "Luv" stages. The main tracks are flavored with conversational interludes, which creates a unique style reminiscent of movie or TV sequels. The addition of computerized applications to the tracks, guide an almost a futuristic exploration or tour into Ms. Janet's....boudoir aka bedroom.

I have to admit that as I listened to the CD and looked at the images, I could not help conjuring up images of Jermaine Dupri (yes him) tied up to a bedpost with some silk stockings as he's "disciplined" by Ms. Janet's whip....humm....Okay, so I digress.

As I continue to view the CD images, I'm thinking (which can be dangerous) that perhaps a little leather, some lace and a whip could go a long way to get a lot of Discipline. I know it's been a minute since "Control" hit the charts but one gets the feeling that even though Mr. Dupri Co-Executive Produced this CD, Ms. Janet was an "intimate" part of the process. Why do I say this? Check out the way both their signatures appear: Jermaine's in a fancy script while Janet's is in a bold print. Gotta love the power in that statement. It is almost like a male/female role reversal (there's that whip image again).

So, that brings us to the definition of the word DISCIPLINE. According to Janet, some of her favorite definitions are: "to train by instruction," "self control" "to punish," "to penalize," "to chastise," Now, this is where the role reversals enter once again. She belts out these words in the title song: "I've misbehaved, done some things I should not have, even though you told me not to." She continues in a breathy, "Daddy, Come Discipline Me Tonight....Daddy, Make Me Cry....You be the teacher and I'll be the student." Talk about your role play in the bedroom!

Now, since I am a creative soul, I totally get this CD and the artistic expression in this project....it is subtle, steamy and definitely shows Ms Jackson (if you're nasty) as a woman totally in control and comfortable with her sexuality.
