Celebrate All The Uses of Bubble Wrap

ACMomma28
Invented in 1957 purely by accident by two engineers, Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes bubble wrap made its debut. The term bubble wrap is a registered trademark of the Sealed Air Corporation founded in 1960 by the inventors. Bubble wrap for those living under a rock is an air filled cushiony material used to package and protect otherwise fragile goods. The wrap is available in many different sizes and Cushing levels to match your needs. Bubble wrap can be as small as ΒΌ inch in diameter to as large as an inch. The wrap starts its life as a polyethylene resin, resembling small pea size beads. The beads are then feed into an extruder, as the extruder turns it heats up and melts the resin into a liquid that is squeezed out and into sheets of clear plastic. The plastic sheet is then wrapped around a drum with holes punched into it, and suction is used to form the bubbles in the wrap.

While bubble wrap is a serious item, helping many ship fragile and delicate goods with out harm, it can also prove fun as well. Thus we can now celebrate Bubble Wrap Appreciation day set for the last Monday in January 2008. The wrap is widely used by many for amusement and also stress relief. The best part is most households acquire this item for free, as a result of receiving it with an item in the mail. Keeping a few small sheets of this in your desk draw can be very helpful on the moments you need a little release. Popping the bubbles one by one can sure be a great way to relax when you feel a little out of control. Popping bubbles is also a great way to annoy others around you; the constant popping sound will surely get to those around you. Offices and homes everywhere should honor this timeless invention by popping a salute on January 28 2008.
