The American Idol Top 12 is now the Top 13. Thursday night's show followed the same format as the past three weeks. Each contestant performed the song of their choice and was critiqued by the four judges. Jessie Langseth was up first with "Tell Me Something Good". She received mixed reviews from judges and the compliments came from Simon. Next up was Matt Giraud who sang "Who's Lovin' You." Matt has always been a favorite of the judges and he didn't disappoint them tonight. Megan Corkery sang "Black Horse And The Cherry Tree" and received nice props from the judges. Next, Von Smith sang "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word" and the judges agreed that it was the wrong song choice and he missed some notes.

Jasmine Murray took the stage and sang "Reflection". The judges felt that the song was too big for her, but Simon said, "It was pretty special and I think you're back in the running." Ricky Braddy, an early fan favorite, performed "Superstition" and received positive feedback from the judges. And, then Taitana took the stage complete with her annoying laugh and repetitions of "I love you" and "Thank you". She performed a nice rendition of Whitney Houston's "Saving All My Love For You" and Randy was glad that she wasn't crying and holding her heart for a change. Anoop Desai was the final performer with "My Perogative" and received some positive comments from the judges.

After a five minute commercial break, Jasmine received the good news that she made the Top 12. Ricky was next and didn't get good news. Megan and Tatiana took to the stage together, and Idol redeemed itself by choosing Megan instead of Tatiana. Jesse and Von were next to receive the news that they didn't make it. Finally, Matt and Anoop took the stage and Matt was told he made it to the Top 12. After hugging each other, and as Anoop was leaving the stage Simon announced that he made it as well and it is now the Top 13, a first in Idol history. The Top 13 will perform next week and to recap they are Kris Allen, Megan Corkery, Anoop Desai, Matt Giraud, Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace, Allison Iraheta, Jasmine Murray, Adam Lambert, Scott MacIntyre, Jorge Nunez, Lil Rounds and Michael Sarver.
