Jasmine Trias, Former American Idol Finalist, to Appear in "Sister Act Concert" in Rancho Cucamonga

Since hitting the Top 3 of American Idol's Third Season in 2004, Jasmine Trias, Filipino-American entertainer, continues to have an incredible fan base and performing career. Her talents is not limited to her phenomenal singing voice, but also includes acting, modeling & television hosting (Wikepedia). In addition to her vocal singles, she has recorded a total of 3 albums in the United States and in the Philippines -- 2 of which went Gold and Platinum. She has also appeared in a music video with Black Eyed Peas to their song, Bebot. Jasmine performed in Las Vegas early this year at the Flamingo Hotel and has starred in a Philippine movie titled Suddenly It's Magic.

To add to Jasmine Trias' already impressive entertainment record is the upcoming concert Sister Act in the Victoria Gardens Cultural Center in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. which has a 526-seating capacity. Jasmine is no stranger to promoting the well-being of youth as seen by various anti-drug, anti-smoking & anti-drinking commercials she has appeared in. To help encourage youth to pursue their dreams, she has also served as a guest judge in a children's talent competition aired on the Tyra Banks Show.

By appearing in Sister Act in the Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, powerhouse Jasmine Trias will continue to foster hope & perseverance within the talented youth in the area who are pursuing their own musical aspirations. The concert production Sister Act is scheduled to take place on September 14 and will be featuring local Filipino children in vocal and dance presentations. The cast members of Sister Act range in age between 6 years to 16 years old.

Sister Act's director, Vic Perez, who has directed other Filipino talents like Regine Velasquez and dancers in the Philippine TV Show Wowowee!, commented, "I am so surprised at how much talent is found here (in the Inland Empire.) This type of concert is the first of its kind. In the future, my hope is to produce more concerts like this in different cities in search of other talented youth." Nicole Villalon, Shanelle & Sabria Joaquin, Giana & Clarissa Peralta, Abby & Amy Sunga, Ericka de los Santos and Michaela Bautista are a sampling of the talented "up and coming" youth chosen to participate in the concert production.

Videotaped auditions began back in May 2008 where each child either sang and/or danced in the presence of parents, other contenders & Director, Vic Perez. After the final selection & review, approximately 25 cast members were ultimately selected to perform various voice/dance parts in the production.

At the time of this article, all cast members have been scheduled to participate in professional vocal & dance coaching throughout the summer of 2008 as they prepare for the September 14th performance date. Currently, a photo shoot has been arranged in Fontana and will be released to local Filipino newspapers as a preliminary promotion for the concert production.
