Jasmine Vanilla Peach Iced Tea

Cool Fragrant and Refreshing Iced Tea Idea

Joanna Ammons
A refreshing iced tea, made with loose Jasmine tea leaves notorious for a wonderful light floral flavor, with a touch of organic peach juice and a hint of vanilla to boot. On a hot Sunday, a dear friend visited me for an afternoon kvetch. She heralds from the south and prides herself on making the best sweet tea in the land. She needed to come up with a caffeine free alternative that was only a tad sweet. Her doctor said that caffeinated beverages were making her very jittery .She also wanted to reduce her sugar intake but, yet not miss the smooth sweet taste. She was skeptical that a self respecting southerner could enjoy a healthy iced tea. I shared with her my iced concoction that utilizes organic peach juice thus lessing the need to add more refined sugar.

What You Will Need:

* 4 cups water, boiling
* 3 tbs loose Jasmine tea
* 1/2 cup of organic powdered cane juice or organic sugar ( I recommend brand 365 from Whole Foods or Sugar In The Raw )
* 1 cup of Organic Peach Juice ( buy an organic brand sold in a glass bottle or you can juice your own using 3 peaches)
* 1 tsp of vanilla extract

Instructions:

Steep the Jasmine tea in 4 cups of hot water for around 8 minutes. Strain out tea leaves.
Mix in 1/2 cup of organic powdered cane juice or organic sugar and allow to cool.
After mixture has cooled add 1 cup of Organic Peach Juice and stir
for a final touch add 1 tsp of vanilla and mix in.
Serve in your favorite glass over ice.
