Jason Castro's Versatility Headlines American Idol Top Seven

labs2007
It is a very difficult season to be able to say who my number one favorite is and so on. It keeps changing each week. All of the American Idol's that are left are very talented. I am going to give you my number one to number seven picks as of this week. After seeing this week's performance, I may change my mind again.

My number one pick as of right now would be Jason Castro. Every week he comes up with a very interesting way to do his song. He also has a great voice and on top of that, he has a lot of charm. His eyes always seem to connect to the audience. I think that a lot of fans of American Idol are favoring him right now. He definitely has a lot of talent and should be recognized for it.

Number two would have been David Cook but I am thinking that David Archuletta should be this week. I think they are pretty much a tie for second at this point but Archuletta is a little ahead as of now. He always connects his eyes with the audience and also has a great voice. He has some interesting versions to songs and has a lot of talent. You wouldn't think just by looking at him that a voice like that would come out. That's what makes him second on my list this week.

Number three would have to be David Cook this week. I still like him a lot. He has a lot of talent and I know that he will get signed if he makes it to the end or not. He just didn't do that great last week. He still has an amazing voice. He is a little arrogant but I think a lot of rockers are that way. David Cook does need to step it up a little bit on American Idol this Tuesday. We will see what happens.

Number four would be Carly Smithson. She gave a disappointing performance last week and I was shocked that she was not sent home. Even though she gave a disappointing performance on American Idol, I still like her voice and know that she has talent. Obviously, the rest of America can see that also. She really needs to step it up and pick some good songs if she doesn't want to leave yet. Hopefully, she will pick a better song choice this coming Tuesday.

Number five is Brooke White. She needs to learn to perform a little better but she still keeps getting better as the weeks come. She has this sweetness about her that I think a lot of fans like. She also has a pretty good voice. She is unique in her own way. She has a unique voice and a different style about her.

Number six would be Kristy Lee Cook. She has a great voice but I think I have seen too much Country. I thought that she would have been kicked off a while ago, to be honest. I have nothing against her. I think that she could have a great career; I just think that she plays it too safe in all of her songs. They are all sounding the same to me now. I think that she may be leaving American Idol shortly.

Number seven is Syesha Mercado. She just sounds like a lot of other singers to me. She isn't very unique. I am not saying that she doesn't have talent; I am just saying that she doesn't have a unique talent. She doesn't really do much for me.

So there you have it. My take on where I think the entire American Idols top seven stand. When I watch Tuesday night's performance, I may change my mind. We will see what happens.

I am really hoping Jason gets at least to the final three. If I remember right from past seasons, that is when they are asked to redo their favorite performance. It would be wondrous if he would do "Hallelujah" again and we would then get a studio version. PLeeeeeeaaaaasssseee!
