Jason Garrett and the Dallas Cowboys Triumph over the Detroit Lions

It was Jason Garrett's second outing as interim head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, and the level of professionalism, self-confidence and team pride has improved for the second week in a row. America's team is, once again, fun to watch. The final score was Dallas Cowboys 35, Detroit Lions 19.

The Dallas Cowboys are a team that just about everyone has an opinion about. You either love the Dallas Cowboys or you cannot stand them. During the early part of the season, many people had just stopped tuning in as did the players themselves out on the field. It was painful for fans to watch as the Dallas Cowboys just seemed to quit playing, even when there was a full quarter to go.

That has changed though. The Dallas Cowboys are back and football fans can once again enjoy the game, whether you are for or against them. This change in the Dallas Cowboys can be credited to one person: Jason Garrett

Jon Kitna, who is handling quarterback duties for the injured Tony Romo, even managed to scramble 29 to score a touchdown, the longest scramble of his career. Interestingly enough, it matches another Dallas Cowboy record of a quarterback's run to the goal line, Mr. Jason Garrett himself.

Last week, Dallas Cowboy Bryan McCann managed to score while returning a punt 101 yards. Showing off his knowledge of football rules, the kicking squad for the Detroit Lions managed to keep the football from going into the end zone, but, the ball bounced right into Bryan McCann's waiting hands. Bryan McCann grabbed the live ball and took off running. 97 yards later, Bryan McCann was celebrating his second punt return touchdown in two games.

Yes, the Dallas Cowboys are back. It will be the upcoming game on Thanksgiving that will allow Jason Garrett and the Dallas Cowboys to see just how far back they have come when they go up against the current Superbowl champs, the New Orleans Saints. With just a few days to rest up, this challenge will test the hearts of the Cowboys team and fans. It will also test the abilities of the interim head coach, Jason Garrett.
