First off the service is top notch, I have always been greeted and had my order taken in a very prompt manor. The friendly folks that run the till have always had a smile on their faces and even manage to joke a bit when they are having a terrible day. The staff is always nicely dressed in a laid back styling of a company that is "not corporate", which they proudly display on the backs of their Java T-shirts.
I have had tried a lot of coffee houses in the area and this is by far one of the best when it comes to product, although I can assure the entire menu is fantastic I am only going to go into detail about a few of their products. One thing I greatly applaud them for is that all of their muffins, breads, turnovers, cinnamon rolls and other pastries are made fresh by hand every day of the week. They also serve a variant of breakfast and lunch items such as eggs benedict or cheese quesadillas. My two favorite drinks are the Iced Thai coffee and the Keith Richards. The Iced Thai contains espresso, milk, and condensed milk and chocolate which are then chilled over ice. It has a silky texture and is slightly sweet, great for a hot summer day. The Keith Richards is the ultimate in morning jolt drinks; it contains a massive amount of espresso, milk, and several kinds of chocolate. Its texture is thick and creamy and may be way too sweet for some to handle.
The cleanliness of the place is unbelievable, it's the type of clean you would expect at your grandmothers home. The floors and windows are always clean and dirty dishes are usually only on a table for a couple minutes before a staff member collects and washes them. Also when a table is bussed the server takes that extra bit of time to push in the chairs just to make the place look even more orderly than it already is.
The atmosphere is very elegant, with a lounge area that has several very comfortable and soft leather arm chairs and couches there is also a fairly large coffee table with neat stacks of news papers and magazines underneath. The décor uses a lot of color that is easy on the eye and generally relaxing in nature, mostly dark browns, yellows and oranges. The best I can describe it as is English study meets modern American culture.
I greatly suggest trying Java out, I would give it a nine out of ten. The prices are fair, the food and drink is splendid, the staff knows what they are doing and isn't afraid to show it off, and best of all it's like a small slice of home with your morning routine.
