"The Voice" has given all the singers a run for their money. The final four singers have given it all they had to give. Beverly McClellan, Vicci Martinez, Dia Frampton. and Javier Colon remain as the final four until the winner was named, many people, myself included, had pegged Bev or Vicci to win the whole thing. But in the end Javier Colon, of Team Adam Levine (of Maroon 5) was named "The Voice."
No one can deny his exceptional ability to take a song and turn it in to his own version. Like he did on auditions with Cyndi Lauper's song "Time After Time." He solidified himself as a true artist by living up to his own standards, never conforming to anyone elses standards, and the fact that he is also a great musician helped.
In all honesty, any of the remaining four contestants could have been named "The Voice" and it would have been fair. They each had their own artistic style, played multiple instruments, and had a distinct vocal ability that was all their own. Each of the contestants were exceptionally talented people.
Congratulations go out to Javier Colon! So, what did he win you ask? He was named "The Voice," a prize pack of $100,000, a recording contract with Universal Republic, and a spot on the summer "Voice" tour that begins July 27 in L.A.
He admits he thought Dia was going to win, that his wife and kids were there to see him win, and that he likes songs that tell stories. When asked what he would do with the money? He plans to pay some of his student loans and pay more on his house.
