Jay Bakker Writes His Inspiring Book - "Fall to Grace: A Revolution of God, Self and Society"

Jay Bakker, Son of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, Writes About Christian Love and Forgiveness in "Fall to Grace: A Revolution of God, Self and Society"

When Jay Bakker was eleven-years-old his friends were forbidden to play with him and he writes in his book, "I didn't have grace to lean on then."

Growing up in front of Christian television viewers

Jay grew up on Christian television as we watched. In his book he writes about his elementary school yearbook pictures being mailed out to thousands of grateful PTL fans.

Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker bring Christian television to viewers

Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker (Tammy Faye, 1942-2007) were the first to bring family-fun Christian worship and praise into viewers living rooms. In 1964 they started out with a puppet show on Christian Broadcasting Network. By the mid 80's they owned one of the only four satellite tv networks in the world, along with a South Carolina theme park, Heritage USA, and the largest tv network ministry in the world.

But soon things started to change - and fast

In 1987 news of Jessica Hahn and Jim Bakker hit the newspaper, the "Charlotte Observer." In an attempt to save PTL,Bakker turned over what he thought was a temporary position to his friend, evangelist Jerry Falwell, where he promptly lost it , along with Heritage USA and their home.

By 1988 they were in the public news again with a federal investigation into the finances of Heritage USA.

Jay Bakker shares some of his childhood with this book as he writes about his world famous and much loved parents, Jim and Tammy Faye, and also, a look into Christian love and forgiveness.

Loved Tammy and Jim Bakker! Watched their show daily! Tammy could sure sing and won the Dove award one year! Maybe more! Thanks for sharing and wondering also about Jay's sister! I remember he was the first one to come down the waterslid at Heritage! Tammy says, "there he comes!" :))

I have often thought of him and his sister. Do you know what has happened to her? She could sing so pretty. Sounds like a good book. I like true books, or autobiographies.
