Jay J Armes Talks to Baby Gabriel Johnson Dad- Starts Mexico Search

Rik Merchant
El Paso, TEXAS. World's most famous private investigator Jay J. Armes spent the morning of Wednesday February 3 2010 debriefing Logan McQueary, the young father of missing baby Gabriel Johnson- Gabriel turned nine months old on February 3. "I told him to tell me everything right from the beginning," Jay J. Armes told me in a phone interview today. Mr. McQueary was forthcoming. "He was very cooperative," said Mr. Armes. Mr. McQueary traveled to El Paso with two cousins.

During the meeting between Mr. McQueary (with his cousins present) and Mr. Armes, news came in that Tammi Smith had been released from jail after her husband Jack Smith had posted her $15k bail. Outside the jail, she spoke of her anger toward Logan, who all of the news media had told her was responsible for her going to jail. She seemed irritated that he had not taken off for Texas as soon as Ms. Johnson had gone missing with Gabriel. "I mean, come on, did he not want to find his baby? The golden boy did not want that the baby," said Tammi Smith. Still angry, she said, "I will help you Logan to find your baby but as far as you go... be watching." Mr. McQueary responded that Tammi Smith's words didn't matter. "She can say what she wants. I don't care. I don't care about it."

Since Mr. Armes has been on the missing Baby Gabriel case, he has gathered some leads. Following a strong lead and several clues, he went to Mexico, where he spent the afternoon. He is developing a strategy. But what that strategy is and what the expected results are, Mr. Armes will not say. "When I have something to tell you, I will tell you," said Mr. Armes. He referenced that revealing details now would jeopardize his strategy. Mr. Armes continues to have a strong hunch that Baby Gabriel is yet alive and that there will be a happy ending. "With the people we have working on our team and my sincere efforts- we're going to come to a final conclusion. And we'll be having a party over this," said Mr. Armes.

When questioned about Tammi Smith, Mr. Armes mentioned her lie detector test and its inconclusive result. He believes Mrs. Smith knows more than she's saying and doesn't know why the police haven't gotten more out of her. He says he's going to talk to her. "I'm working on every effort to break her down." In reference to the Smiths' adoption plan for Baby Gabriel, he mentioned there's plenty of money there. He said there was a 'finalized deal but no proof'. Mr. Armes is not after any bad guys. He just wants to find Baby Gabriel. The Tempe police no longer believe the Smiths know where Baby Gabriel is.

Jay J. Armes takes on cases in the U.S. and worldwide. He is often paid $1 million per case. He sometimes takes on pro bono cases, such as missing Baby Gabriel's. Among his diverse cases, he has rescued 100+ children from underground adoptions. Mr. Armes has put together a powerful investigative team for missing Baby Gabriel that includes Logan Clark of California, Ralph Thomas of Austin Texas, and Bill Dear of Houston Texas. He has since brought in his son Jay J. Armes III who has been a criminal investigator for twenty-three years. The tally of collective experience on the missing Baby Gabriel case is up to 170 years.

About Mr. Armes' son, Jay J. Armes III. Jay J. Armes III was born into the business of Private Investigation. Under the strict guidance of his father, Jay J. Armes, Sr., young Mr. Armes III gained practical experience and at age eighteen, earned his license as a Private Investigator.
