Jay Leno Returns to NBC with the Jay Leno Show

The King of Late Night Television is Back, Baby!

Finally! Jay Leno is at last returning to NBC's primetime television with his new talk show The Jay Leno Show. I am beaming with delight, especially after having had suffered four grueling months of Conan O'Brien's whiny voice. I respect Conan; he's a brilliant interviewer and some of his antics are indeed hilarious. But truthfully, I can't tolerate his tedious monologues, overdone imitations, and outrageous skits. And don't even get me started on his telenovela Conando-methinks it's whack! Thank God for Jay's return! **breaths in a sigh of relief** The king of late night television is back, baby!

The Jay Leno Show is scheduled to premiere on NBC at 10:00pm (EST) on September 14th, 2009. Like its counterpart The Tonight Show, Jay's new show will air for an hour, during which he will interview guests and allow musical acts to perform. There will, however, be a greater focus on antics and skits. Tonight Show routines like Headlines and Jaywalking will be returning as well, but at the END of the episode instead of the beginning. Here's a basic outline of the new format:

10 Minute Monologue
Celebrity Guest + Antics/Skits
Musical Guest (Twice a Week)
Tonight Show Segments (Headlines, Jaywalking)

It's not quite the same, but it harbors enough of Jay's savvy style to keep me entertained!
