Jaycee Lee Dugard Today

Jaycee Lee Dugard today is a very different woman than she was when abducted eighteen years ago. Obviously, Jaycee Lee Dugard today is a woman. When she was taken, Jaycee Lee Dugard was only eleven years old. As a young child, for one reason or another, she traveled alone without worry that something as horrible as her own abduction could ever occur. Jaycee Lee Dugard today would tell you a very different kind of story. Or would she?

There are some questions that immediately come to mind about this case. Certainly, they are questions that the Jaycee Lee Dugard today would have for some people in her life who were responsible for her care back in 1991. How was it that she was allowed to travel on a public bus at such a young age? Was it the kind of community back then that kids didn't have concerns about public transit? Perhaps, they did it all the time. It is something that I am sure the parents of Jaycee Lee Dugard today will be asking themselves for many years to come.

Another strange part about the case is where Jaycee Lee Dugard had been kept all these years. Supposedly, the trailer park-like community in Antioch, California was scattered and unkempt. It is also rumored to have housed a registered sex offender. The state of California has prided itself on rigorous measures to protect its residents from sex offenders. When a child goes missing, the whole state supposedly goes on high alert. Jaycee Lee Dugard today would surely like to know how the local police didn't investigate the community where she had been held all these years. If they did, how did they miss her. Perhaps, it was simply too daunting a task to find her.

Most puzzling of questions that surely remain are those that would probably be reserved for Jaycee Lee Dugard today. First and foremost, how was she held for so many years when information has be detained that demonstrates she was free to come and go as she pleased as well as communicate with the outside world on a daily basis. Supposedly she was working for her kidnapper, Phillip Garrido as a graphic designer for years and not once mentioned a thing to anyone that she would speak to daily. Her history and true story was kept secret over and over again.

There is a theory that explains why the Jaycee Lee Dugard of today never told anyone of her plight. Often referred to as Stockholm Syndrome, the victim of a kidnapping can begin to sympathize with her captors. In this case, so much so that the criminals become an accepted part of the victims life. Garrido is charged with raping Jaycee Lee Dugard numerous times which have resulted in her baring two children. The ramifications of the Garridos crimes can not even begin to be imagined by most.

The glimmer of hope that seems to shine from the case is that if a Jaycee Lee Dugard can be found today, than perhaps other stolen children can be found tomorrow. Perhaps there is the possibility that those who were believed to have been lost forever, will somehow find their way home. With each case that emerges like that of Jaycee Lee Dugard today, a little more can be learned that can help us keep our children a little bit safer in the future.

She was walking to the school bus stop while her step father watched from a short distance. She was not taking 'public transportation alone"

The reason the police did nothing, nor "said that they" did not search the backyard is because they were men! Men simply cannot operate in a civilized society, especially to uphold the law in one. All their judgements are based on "their" penis or someone else's penis. The cop that went their just figured, hey I'm a man too and I completely understand....let the guy have his piece of ass. Men may choose to completely argue with my statement because they are the ultimate of liberals, even so hypocritically! But, women, wake up ....mark my words. The cop that went their KNEW about it, I can almost guarantee it! And, HE TOO will be safeguarded because of that "well, he's a man and he just was understanding about the penis issue" thing.

Our bus sytstem only allows K through 2nd on the bus. The rest either have to walk or the parents pick them up. And we don't live in a country town.
