Jazz Up Brussel Sprouts

Stacey Super
I hated them, and I never even tried them. They just looked funny and their green color simply did not depict a tasty side dish. I recall trying them at a fancy buffet and felt a wave of disgust crash into my taste buds because of their juicy horrid taste. I had not intentions of ever trying them again, until this past year, when I decided to give them another try with my own ideas in mind.

First of all Brussels sprouts are delicious if you cook them right. They actually require very little seasoning and they are far from being a ball of juicy mess. Below are the ingredient s that I used to create a tasty side dish .

What You will Need

1 bag of frozen Brussels sprouts

Minced garlic ( amount is based on your preference)

1 half red onion

½ cup of chopped mushrooms

¼ cup chopped walnuts and almonds

Directions ( These are very informal)

(1 )Heat oven to 425 and place the Brussels sprouts on a baking pan

(2 )Once oven is heated put the baking pan into the oven cook until Brussels sprouts are firm ( generally no longer than 8 minute depending on your

oven)

(3) While the sprouts are roasting,, heat up a sauce pan with olive oil ( very little or the oil will over power the flavor)

(4) Add the chopped red onion, mushrooms to the pan , allow to cook to almost done, then remove from heat

(5) When the Brussels sprouts are put them in a deep serving dish and set aside.

(6) Quickly add the garlic, walnuts and almonds to the sauce pan and return to heat until all ingredients are mixed well, ( about 1 to 2 minuets)

(7) Then add the ingredients to the Brussels sprouts ,mix well and serve.
