Many people have been lamenting that jazz is slowly dying off and seems to not be able to sustain itself on radio stations. That is probably because a younger generation is not being introduced to the beauty and intricacies that make jazz what it is. One of the ways that we can combat that is to provide positive jazz experiences for our children so that they pick up the love of jazz and, hopefully, pass it on to a new generation. Coco's Butter Cafe does a lot to encourage the attendance of families by creating an atmosphere where children can come and listen with their parents. The cafe is not a club so it is open to all ages.
The cafe is also available for private parties, networking events, and girls' or guys' nights out. So have a jazz party for your friends, throw a kid's jazz extravaganza.
Try some of the appetizers. My favorite is the Hummus Plate. The Medley Appetizer is a wonderful accompaniment to the wines that they carry, and will appeal to any palate. Wine connaisseurs have several reasonably priced wines to choose from, ranging from dry whites to smoky reds. The chocolates tend to be a hit with the ladies and include several choices of truffles. If you are a teetotaler, you will love the range of non-alcoholic drinks they offer. There is a little fee for the jazz shows, but it is reasonable and well worth it.

Post a CommentVery unprofessional. They are not even open during their proposed business hours. We drove twenty miles to visit, and they were leaving out at the time they were supposed to be opening. They told us they had an emergency, but the attitude was "Oh well." I sent a complaint to management. The response was nasty and ghetto to say the least. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!
They got jazz in Columbia? I only know that place because of the mall. I am assuming that it has grown a lot since I left Maryland.
