Jeep Brand Stroller Reportedly Saves the Life of 9-month Old Hit by a Car

A 9-month old is lucky to be alive after being run over by a car at a Washington area McDonald's. The heavy duty construction of her Jeep brand stroller is reportedly the reason for her survival of what should have been a fatal crash. Little Sofia Pisano miraculously suffered only a gash on her leg and some minor cuts on her head following the crash. Jenifer Pisano was pushing Sofia across the street when they were almost run down in the cross walk.

The driver proceeded to a nearby McDonald's and the mother said that's when "the mother bear in her" came out and she went to confront the teen about his reckless driving. She stood in front of the driver's car in the drive through lane. She then noticed an empty beer can in the young man's car and threatened to cal 911. According to KOMOnews.com the driver "seemed to lose it". "He just put his car into neutral and revved the engine, and then bumped the stroller a couple of times," the mother said.

According to onlookers, the driver gunned the engine and began to spin his wheels. He then took off at top speed, running over the stroller with the little girl inside. Mechanics from a shop next door to the McDonald's witnessed the entire scene, horrified by what they saw. One of the mechanics, Bradyn Lyon recounted the scene, according to KOMOnews: "I saw the stroller being pushed under the car for maybe 10 feet, then under the tires. Heard the plastic crunching,"

Collin Baroh, tells what happened next. "His tires spun. It pretty much spit the stroller out and grinded up on the rail." The mechanics were certain the driver was aware that the stroller was in front of his car when he ran over it and left the scene.

The mother convinced that her daughter was probably dead ran to the crumpled mass of twisted metal and plastic. She still remembers the huge relief she felt at find her baby still alive. "I just can't believe she's here," Pisano said., according to KOMOnews. Jennifer Pisano adds that up until now Sofia had been a happy baby, but since the incident she seems troubled. "I mean, I don't know if 9-month-olds have nightmares, but that's what it seems like to me," Pisano says.

The mother was able to get a partial license number and the police feel they have enough evidence to make a speedy arrest.

In researching the Jeep line of strollers, I found they have consistently ranked high in quality and durability. Now the company can add life-saver to the list of product features. It was not clear from the KOMOnews.com article which Jeep Stroller was involved in the accident. Based on the local newscast here in Houston it appeared to be the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller which retails for $159.99 at Amazon.com.

Thank you j and Linda, I would imagine they are working out a way to use this in the advertising. I imagine they have. They made it a point of pointing out the brand on the local news here,

Thank you all, when I heard the story, I was excited that the baby had actually survived. Maybe my next car will be a jeep.
