Striped bass are a favored gamefish whether caught from the ocean waters or on your local river or stream. First mentioned in literature by Captain John Smith and the colonists, striped bass remain one of the tastiest of fresh seafoods.

Jeffrey's Best Ever Fried Striped Bass

Recipe can be increased if you have more fillets and people to feed.

4 striped bass fillets (from 3 to 6 lb fish)
Italian salad dressing
1 cup flour
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese
½ tablespoon garlic powder
½ tablespoon black pepper
Canola (or other) oil for frying

Filet fish leaving no bones. Place fillets in a bag and fill with Italian salad dressing, marinate for 1 hour.

Heat oil in large frying pan. Mix flour, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic and black pepper. Stir or shift well.

Cover fillets in seasoned flour mixture. Fry two at a time for about five minutes on each side. Remove to paper towels and serve hot. Serve with fresh cut French fries.
