Jen Schefft is Pregnant

It took Jen a while to find her perfect match, but getting pregnant is another story!

Jen Schefft, ex-Bachelor contestant and former Bachelorette, is expecting her first child with husband Joe Waterman. The two wed in 2009.

Jen was Andrew Firestone's choice on the third season of the Bachelor, but the two split after the rose ceremony in December of 2003. Then, Jen was the Bachelorette in 2005, and rejected both John Paul Merritt and Jerry Ferris at the final rose ceremony. Jen chose Jerry Ferris over John Paul Merritt, but told Ferris the chemistry wasn't there and rejected his proposal. She walked away from the Bachelorette still single.

After her two runs on the Bachelor and Bachelorette, it appeared that Jen was unlucky in love. However, the Public Relations executive met her husband, Joe Waterman in their home city, Chicago.

According to Us Weekly, Jen is due in November, which puts her in her second trimester of pregnancy. During her first trimester, she told the magazine that she suffered from all-day 'morning sickness' for ten straight weeks. She's also dealing with pregnancy hormones, crying at songs playing on the radio. For some reason, she enjoys listening to country music, adding, "literally every song makes me cry."

Jen has convinced Joe they should find out the sex of the baby before the birth. Jen told Us Weekly, "Joe would rather be surprised. But I want to know, and because I'm carrying it, he's letting me get my way."

Maybe Jen is still getting over the surprise of her pregnancy test. "I was shocked. I thought it would take more time," Schefft explains. "I took three tests because I didn't believe it was true!"

So, how did she break the news to Joe? "I put the tests in a Ziploc bag and rushed to the train station to pick him up after work," she told Us Weekly. "I handed him the baggie, and he gave me a high-five!" She goes on to say they were both completely surprised by the ease of getting pregnant.

Jen and Joe seem like good people who will make great parents, and any couple that would high-five over a positive pregnancy test has to be full of good times and happiness!
