Jennifer Aniston: 40, Nude and Hot on the Cover of GQ

After watching her celebrity blossom on Friends for ten years, I was excited to see her come out of her clothes for the press at the age of 40. Unarguably an age milestone that finds the careers of most actresses sorely waning.

She could have posed sans clothing at a much younger age. Making such a strong statement at 40 seems to make much more sense. The breadth and depth of the press coverage her photo layout is receiving gives ample testament to that fact. GQ Magazine must have said something right to get her shed her clothing now. And boy am I glad they did!

Of course the publicity GQ is receiving for their efforts is second only to that being lavished onto Aniston herself. A win-win deal for everyone - Hollywood's favorite scenario.

I believe it was very brave of her to make this jump now, especially since she hasn't done much publicly in the past two years. Not to mention that she's 40 and looking hotter than she ever has.

Even with the constant parade of paparazzi following her every move - nude photos of her were not easily taken, nor given. I guess there was that one of her taken at her home by the swimming pool. That photographer had a serious telephoto lens, and waited patiently from the only perch from which to snap the private moment.

After the Aniston's breakup with heartthrob Brad Pitt, the list of men she has dated is amazingly short. Especially for such a beautiful, successful, smart and charismatic woman. Most recently she was dating the socially conscious, much younger than she, crooner, John Mayer. It's anyone's guess if they are still together, as she is very quiet about her private life.

I know she's a super star, but when you think about it, if she was your best friend wouldn't you be saying "Girl, you really need to find yourself a good man!" Or maybe you would have responded to the GQ layout with comments such as "How come you didn't pose for GQ sooner?"

We all hope she keeps acting, be it comedy or drama, as she's not half bad. I highly recommend seeing her in Along Came Polly, and I especially liked her recent appearance on Tina Fey's hit comedy series 30 Rock. Her character was great! A very silly, sexy, half crazy high school friend of Tina's character, Liz Lemon. (If you haven't seen this episode, you can watch it now on Hulu.com - for free. If you'd like to see Aniston show her dramatic chops, I might suggest watching Derailed. I very much enjoyed that thriller, though I only found Aniston's performance to be slightly better than average.

So Jennifer, if it's time for you to be a sexy, smart cougar of sorts, then bring it on! Can't wait to see what great characters you have waiting for us in the future.Aniston is the type of girl who could get up out of bed, brush her teeth, throw on a white t-shirt and totally keep us watching (and ogling) for the next 20 years!
