Aniston as Barbara in Harper's Bazaar is Bizarre
When you think of Jennifer Aniston and her classic girl next door beauty, doesn't Barbara Streisand automatically come to mind? Come on. I can hear the editor at Harper's Bazaar defending the creative idea -- but don't you get it? The movie's called The Switch so it's unexpected. Who better than Aniston to pose as Barbara?

The Harper's Bazaar Photos Are Unflattering to Both Aniston and Streisand
What's being touted as an homage is really a lame idea in creative execution. You've taken two beautiful women, each with very different looks. It's totally an apples to oranges thing or rather like comparing an apple to a pomegranate. It's so unfair and the Harper's photos end up making Jennifer Aniston look ugly which I never thought was possible. Aniston has always been impossibly and effortlessly beautiful whereas I've always admired Barbara for having to work hard to look gorgeous.

There's Only One Streisand and Jennifer Comes Up Short -- By A Nose
I admit, the black and white cover is beautiful and there is another black and white photo that's lovely in contrast with another one that's horrid -- you'll see. There are photos of Aniston with teased '60s hair in awkward staged poses dressed in animal skin print that only Babs could pull off with the kind of stage presence that says, so what about my nose -- I'm celebrating it in profile. Aniston's nose is just too short to pull off that kind of drama.

What's up with the creative director on this shoot? Tyra Banks & Twiggy would so not stand for this on Top Model. I don't think Jennifer Aniston channelled her her inner Barbara. Instead it looks as if someone from wardrobe said, this is a pink shirt, Barbara wore a pink shirt in that photo. OK, we're done here.

External Beauty Can Be Mimicked, Internal Beauty & Talent Cannot
The sad thing is that while one can attempt to make cosmetic changes on the outside, it unfortunately speaks volumes about not being able to translate making that same switch inside. Photos are more than just clothes, hair and makeup. Streisand is a performer with formidable stage presence and despite all their best efforts, this inner strength and absolute conviction in her unique beauty end up making Aniston look like the ugly duckling.
