Jennifer Aniston Vs Angelina Jolie at the 2009 Oscars; Drama at the Academy Awards

Jennifer Aniston was a presenter at the 2009 Academy Awards. Once dubbed the "American Sweetheart" for her role in the popular TV show "Friends", Aniston was expected to bring in the fans and drama to the Oscars. It was not for Aniston's movie roles or her career accomplishments, but her Jennifer Aniston's long and bitter media battle with Angelina Jolie.

For those fans who have lived under a rock in the recent years, Jennifer Aniston was once married to Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt and Aniston were once the golden couple of Hollywood, both successful in their own right. A little movie came along, "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" in which Brad Pitt starred opposite of the sizzling Angelina Jolie. Before the fans and Jennifer Aniston knew what happened, divorce news broke and Aniston and Brad Pitt were a couple no more. Brad Pitt has now been a loyal servant of sexy Angelina Jolie, together they have a small army of children. Angelina and Brad have six children, and they are not married. Jolie and Pitt are seen as the new Hollywood golden couple, the ultimate in Hollywood glamour and power.

The 2009 Academy Awards were the first red carpet event that Aniston and Jolie would have shared. The first glimpse of Brad Pitt's former and current love, together at the same Hollywood event.

The fans expected a cat fight between Angelina and Jennifer, a hair pulling, clawing, biting fight for Brad Pitt right there on the red carpet at the Oscars. However, this was not the case. Jennifer Aniston was ushered into the building through the back door, like the rest of the Oscar presenters. The Academy wanted to keep the presenters a surprise, and have the fans catch the first glimpse of Oscar presenters on stage and not before the award show.

Angelina and Brad Pitt walked the red carpet, looking fabulous and beautiful as ever. Angelina wore a black Elie Saab dress, from the Spring 2009 Couture collection. Jolie's dress featured a side cut, showing off her left leg. The dress was pretty, but it was not as elegant as one would expect from Jolie on the Oscar night. Angelina's jewelry also caught people by surprise, she wore emerald green earrings and an emerald green ring. For a second, it seemed to me as if Angelina found her jewelry in Ring Pop candy. Fans would expect diamonds, she took a fashion risk with her Oscar jewelry and I am not sure if it was the success she expected it to be.

Once the red carpet even was over, Jolie and Pitt were seated in the front row with the rest of Hollywood elite. The awards began, with many shots to Angelina and Brad Pitt looking lovely together, and holding hands during some speeches.

In comes Jennifer Aniston with Jack Black, for the announcement of The Best Animated Feature Film and the everyone anxiously awaits. The room was not anxious for the announcement of the Oscar winner, but to see if Jennifer Aniston would jump off the stage and strangle Jolie.

Jennifer and Black stood off to the side, not right in front where Angelina and Brad were sitting. However, they were only feet away and honestly I thought that Aniston was trying very hard to look away from the front row. Jack Black did a comedy routine, that made Aniston laugh and also the sneaky camera guys cut to Angelina and Pitt twice. The camera caught Angelina smiling, some may calling it "putting on a face" but she was all smiles and no sign of urges to slap Jennifer Aniston around. After all, Jolie goes home with Brad so she has nothing to be hateful about.

This was the drama of Jennifer Aniston vs Angelina Jolie at the 2009 Oscars. The much anticipated Oscar drama came and went, without incidents but with awkward moments and enough material to fill gossip pages.

For those still interested in the Oscar winner, Wall-E won for The Best Animated Featured Film. Even poor Wall-E got overshadowed by the sexy Angelina Jolie.
