Ceci de Bergerac
For a limited time on Broadway, Garner once took on the role of Roxanne in the Edmond Rostand play Cyrano de Bergerac. It should be within her range of interest then for Garner to take on the lead role in a movie based on the play. Unlike past incarnations of the character which have cast a male actor in the lead, Jennifer could re-define the role as a female role. As "Ceci de Bergerac" Garner could take on a role which would require her to play down her looks and rely more on the quirky and fun personality that she demonstrated in 13 Going on 30.
Ava Gardner - Hollywood's Wild Child of the '50s
Unlike the more iconic Marilyn Monroe, Hollywood has for the most part ignored Ava Gardner when it comes to bio-pics, unless the role of Gardner was attached to a movie or a miniseries based on the life of Frank Sinatra or Howard Hughes. However the Ava of the '50s lived a life worthy of her own film. The decade saw her go from a friendship with Howard Hughes, to a scandalous marriage to Frank Sinatra, to hanging around with Earnest Hemingway while dating a bullfighter. If Jennifer Garner could capture the spirit of Ava Gardner in a movie, it may be a portrayal worthy of an award nomination.
The Babe Didrikson Zaharias Story
Perhaps the greatest woman athlete of all-time, Babe Didrikson Zaharias was a former Olympic track & field gold medalist and one of the greatest LPGA golfers that ever lived. The role would be a natural for Garner who has said that she "loves being physical and acting at the same time." The movie could be a period piece along the lines of Amelia or Cinderella Man, and Garner's real life husband Ben Affleck could star as Babe's husband, the wrestler George Zaharias.
The Indiana Black Widow
A movie based loosely on the life of famous serial killer Belle Gunness, could give Garner another opportunity to play against her established norm. Gunness is repute to have killed more than 20 suitors and all of her children in the mid 1800's, burying the bodies in her farm and the pen where she kept her pigs. Though the movie could be fictionalized so Garner could use her looks to counter-balance the darkness of role, the character should still stretch Jennifer beyond her current acting range.
Isis (DC Superhero)
Though she played the Marvel comic book character Elektra in both the Daredevil and Elektra motion pictures, Garner's performances were never well received by critics, with USA Today going as far as saying that her Elektra character was "wooden and dour, as if she is made cranky by her unearthly physical power." That being the case, perhaps a need for redemption is in order. While a movie about Wonder Woman has been rumored to be in development for 2013, the role may be too iconic for Garner to make her own. That being the case, Jennifer is better of portraying a lesser known superhero from the DC Universe. Starring in a movie based on the character Isis may make better sense. The role would call for Garner to play a high school teacher who discovers an amulet that lets her call on the powers of the Egyptian goddess Isis.
